About Kodanad



Kodanad is located in Palakkad District, Kerala. 





Our nearest places are Koottanad (2 KM), Mezhathur (1 KM) and Thrithala (3 KM).   Situated in Thrithala Panchayath. 


Our nearest Railway Station is Pattambi and the nearest Airport is at Karipur (Calicut).

Religion: Mostly Hindus and Muslims.




Temple: Pullanikkavu Temple is Main Devi Kshethram along with Siva Temple.




Musjid: Approx 200 Years Old Juma Masjid situated in the Island of Thiruthu which is under renovation now.
 


a Majid cum Madrasa is located in the heart of Kodanad.  Also they run an orphanage called "Sidhikul Akbar Banath" which is located nearby.






The famous Ayurvedic Treatment centre "Vaidhyamadam" Vaidyasala and Nursing Home is situated here.

Vaidyamadom Cheriya Narayanan Namboodiri celebrated a three day long 80th birthday in March 2010 at Vaidhamadam, Kodanad, Mezhathur. 







Local Celebrations:
Pooram is one of the most famous celebrations of Kerala temples. Many temples of Kerala have pooram every year. Major attractions of Pooram is elephants and Melam.

Maha Shivaratri is celebrated throughout the country. It is also a big festival in Kerala. Maha Shivratri is the grand night to worship Lord Shiva. It is also celebrated in Kodanad Shiva Temple every year.




"Miladi Sherif" or "Nabi Dinam", is the Birthday celebration of Prophet Mohammed Nabi (SAS) and is a major Muslim festival in Kerala and allover the world. It is also celebrated by Kodanadans every year.
